Hi, I'm Sindi

I'm a birth and postpartum doula serving the Utah County and Salt Lake County areas, and I'm also a placenta specialist.

I am the mother of a rainbow baby conceived through IVF, and I have extensive experience in dealing with food allergies and lactation. I am the wife of a supportive husband who encourages my goals and dreams. Being from Colombia is a big part of my identity; as an economist by profession, I had the opportunity to work with teenage pregnant mothers in sexual and reproductive health education as part of my bachelor’s thesis.

I find joy in contemplating and creating art, cooking, dancing and spending time with loved ones. A nature lover at heart, I have a natural affinity for children, and caregiving comes to me instinctively. My main passions include fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, lactation, parenting, healthy lifestyles, and anthropology, and I enjoy delving into literature on these topics. Currently, I work in the field of data analysis, aiming to leverage that knowledge to contribute to the improvement of maternal and infant health. Being a doula is not just a passion but a profound calling in my life.

I am a Community Health worker who has been facilitating lactation classes for Hispanic mothers in Utah for since 2020. I am involved in training community-based lactation consultants and serve as a community-based doula. My passion lies in advocating for the right to have a loving, compassionate, evidence-based, culturally-oriented, trauma informed approach to woman and baby-centered care, incorporating spiritual and ancestral practices. I believe in empowering mothers to make informed decisions and receive support, free from judgment, from the community around them.

What I'll Bring to Your Birth Journey

Childbirth is a transformative experience that necessitates accompaniment. It’s a journey through valleys of fear and confidence, self-doubt and self-discovery, uncertainty and intuition, inner criticism and self aceptance, central wounds and healing, shadows and light, discomfort and movement, judgments and understanding, clumsiness and grace. I see myself as the hummingbird that, without changing the flower, helps you extract the best of your experience. I aim to illuminate the successes, magic, and beauty within, assisting you in finding your voice, discovering your essence, being amazed at your courage and power, identifying your intuition, and walking your unique path.

My role is to support without colonizing your space, enabling you to navigate this journey with light and resilience.
