Hi, I'm Ali

I'm a birth doula serving the Salt Lake County, Utah County, Davis County, and Park City areas.

My journey into birth work ignited through the experience of my first pregnancy and birth. I had been planning an unmedicated hospital birth, but when the global pandemic struck and hospital policies tightened, I felt a pull to change plans. I knew I wanted my doula with me, as I saw the value in her unique support, and she wouldn’t have been able to come to the hospital. At 37 weeks pregnant, I pivoted, and gave birth to my baby in my home. That experience, as well as my second homebirth, solidified my fire and passion for all things birth!

I graduated with my Masters degree in Social Work in 2015, and currently work as a therapist in my own small private practice, specializing in trauma and perinatal mental health. Doula work has been a natural extension of my years of experience in therapy. I feel so honored to be trusted, by both therapy and birth clients, in sharing their most meaningful and vulnerable moments with me. 

I have two darling daughters, two rowdy dogs, and a fun-loving and easygoing husband. I love music and concerts, traveling, moving my body, and being in nature–I can never decide which I love more between mountains and beach–can’t I love both!? I’m an introverted people-person, and love my down time as much as I love meaningful connection!

Ali was an incredible support throughout my labor and delivery. She brings a very calm and safe energy, and is there to guard your birth experience. I’ve had two other labors without doula support, and I would never do it again without one. She anticipated my needs even before I did. Every question I was asked during labor, she was there to support and advocate for what I wanted and what we had discussed prior to labor. I was hesitant to give myself the gift of a doula, but now that I’ve labored with one I can honestly say she is worth every penny. My recovery has been so much smoother because of her support through the labor to help my body relax and open for the delivery and because she advocated to the nurses and midwife about my delivery goals. If there is ever a time to treat yourself as a woman, it is with a support like this. There's really no words for how she supported us through that night.

Ali was my doula for my second pregnancy. I had a lot of trauma and fears stemming from the birth of my first baby, and I found Ali to be a wonderful resource to help explore my fears and overcome them. Her background in therapy really made her a great asset to emotionally prepare for birth. I had a beautiful unmedicated birth where Ali was right by my side. She was attentive, empathetic, and had all the right tools to help manage birth. Her postpartum visits really helped me to process and reflect. Ali is a wonderful doula and a great addition to anyone’s birth team!

Ali is an amazing doula, I will never birth without her there. I can tell she does what she does because she loves birth and women. I couldn't have had my dream birth without her there supporting me. She was up with me all night and worked hard the entire time. I can't recommend her enough. I hired Ali last minute and she very quickly got up to speed with the birth I envisioned and exceeded all my expectations during my actual labor. She was most helpful with physical support (reminding me to change positions, teaching me new positions, and counter pressure), helping me stay fueled and hydrated, and for emotional support. She could tell I was holding in my emotions and told me to release them however I needed to and it helped me get back into labor land feeling motivated when I felt discouraged. Last little tangent- I had a home birth and was going back and forth on whether or not I would like to have a doula at a home birth and I am sooooo glad I hired Ali. She is worth every penny 🙂 <3

We hired Ali after moving to Utah about 2/3 of the way through my second pregnancy. I was so nervous to have a new birth team so late in the game but Ali was the perfect kind of calm & encouraging energy I needed. As someone who was fearful of struggling with PPA again, Ali helped us plan for if that came up again. When my whole family was sick in my third tri, she made us dinner. She made myself, my older daughter and husband feel heard and supported as we navigated the adjustment to life as a family of 4. The birth of my second was VERY fast. So fast that Ali wasn’t able to make it in time, but when she got there she jumped right in and made our experience exactly what I dreamed it would be. I still need to convince my husband to have a third but when I do, Ali will hopefully be supporting us. Highly highly recommend meeting with her to see if she’s the best fit for you and your fam.
